One of the newest spots on DC’s waterfront dining scene is The Point. Featuring a super modern design with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for magnificent views, there’s not a bad seat in the house. It uniquely features food cooked atop a 12-foot wood fire grill that lends a smoky flavor to all their signature dishes, with a large focus on fresh seafood.

To start, try the wood-roasted Chesapeake oysters with blue crab-miso butter and roast garlic baguette, or the warm crab doughnuts. Then, for your entree, you have to try one of the wood grill options for the true The Point experience. Choose from options like barbecue shrimp with charred cherry tomatoes and pickled fennel, Mediterranean branzino filet with tzatziki, arugula salad, and falafel, or go with the special for the evening! They also do a delightful grilled dry-aged ribeye if you’re a land-lover.

In the evenings in the summer and fall, you can snag a spot beside the outdoor firepit tables. Pull up an Adirondack chairs and catch up with some friends from your Capitol Hill apartment.
