DC locals know that H Street is usually a pretty lively place, but this place generates even more buzz than usual each September when it hosts the H Street Festival. Now in its 12th year, the 2019 festival will close down 11 full blocks of H Street on September 21, where it will feature 14 different live performance stages. Some stages will feature music by popular local bands and DJs, while others will showcase the work of local fashion designers and dance troupes. There’ll even be a stage devoted to athletic events, ranging from martial arts and boxing to yoga.
Between the stages you’ll be able to browse hundreds of vendor booths, exhibiting everything from original artwork to artisan crafts and locally-made products. And, of course, there’ll be plenty of tasty food and drink. Food trucks will be scattered throughout the festival, and restaurants along the H Street corridor will be offering sidewalk service throughout the day.
