The earliest baseball players weren’t the most creative bunch. Before it was called “baseball,” players sometimes referred to it simply as “round ball.” Times have changed, though, and so has the game that’s now considered the Great American Pastime. A new exhibit in your city pays homage to the history of the game, Baseball Americana at the Library of Congress. It’s set to debut on June 29th.
Be among the first to explore this exhibit, a collection of artifacts from both the Library of Congress and some of its lending partners. The display ranges from vintage baseball cards that date back to the early 1900s to contemporary photos that explore the role of women and African Americans in the evolution of the sport. Come to the Library of Congress to see the history of baseball unfold before your eyes.
