The Public Option is a cozy, eclectic neighborhood joint in Langdon Park offering draft beer brewed on-site and a menu of basic bar food. The beer includes a well-balanced selection of eight varieties at all times, including three darker malty beers, three paler beers with a focus on the hops, and two experimental brews. Their food menu changes daily with food trucks or guest chefs in the kitchen on occasion, such as Odd BBQ or Indian fusion pop-up Dhabalicious.
The friendly and funky brewpub is laidback with board games like Scrabble and Candy Land, a no-tipping policy, and charming 50’s style kitsch décor. Stop by on Record Night, held every second Sunday of the month, in which customers bring in their own vinyl records to play. They also host an open-mic night on Thursdays and have plans to create even more events. The Public Option is open from afternoon to evening Thursday through Sunday.
