It takes a truly special tree to be chosen to commemorate the holiday season at the US Capitol Building. This year’s Capitol Christmas Tree came all the way from Montana to adorn the West Lawn, and a visit to this national treasure is not to be missed this holiday season.
A different National Forest supplies the tree each year, and this year’s stunner comes to DC from Kootenai National Forest. Come to marvel at the bright lights in the beautiful setting with the Capitol Building in the background, and stay for a bit longer to appreciate the nearby Library of Congress or other DC monuments. It’s also a wonderful activity if you have visitors this holiday season and want to share with them all DC has to offer. A detailed map of the tree’s journey is also included on the website, as well as news and information about past Capitol Christmas Trees.
