The new exhibit Modern Medicine and the Great War at the National Museum of American History, is just one example of the type of incredible learning experience someone can have at DC’s excellent museums.
This exhibition is something of an exploration of the medical practices of World War One, both in hospitals and on the battlefield. Period-specific uniforms, art, kits, equipment, supplies and more are on display to illustrate just how far we have come in developing healthcare. Peruse 275 feet of glass cases over two floors to really gain an understanding of the role science, medicine, and technology played during wartime.
Admission to the museum is free.
