While Washington, DC boasts a great deal of history, you may get so busy that you just don't have time to get out and see the sights. If you're hoping to learn more about the city that lies just outside your window, consider checking out one of the many walking tours hosted by WalkingTown DC.
Every September, WalkingTown DC introduces both residents and visitors of the nation’s capitol to some of the city’s different cultural layers. Best of all, all of the tours offered through the program are completely free! Tours range from cultural experiences like "African Americans in Washington, DC" to tours of geographical areas, like a tour of Georgetown Heights. Most tours can be completed within an hour, and there are more than 50 to choose from. Tours are available during weekdays, too, so you can even try to fit one in on your lunch break!
