The Smithsonian American Art Museum is a historic establishment, once holding the nation’s first collection of American art. It has long since become a distinguished museum in our nation’s capital, garnering the attention of people throughout the world. After two years of renovation, the Smithsonian's popular Renwick Gallery reopened in November of 2015. This division of the museum showcases the best craft objects and decorative arts from the 1800s to the present.
The Renwick Gallery also periodically hosts great events, like the Renwick in Bloom Family Day on May 14th, 2016. Starting at 10 a.m., the Smithsonian American Art Museum will hold 4 hours’ worth of fun and educational crafting activities for children and their parents. The RockCandy cloggers will entertain the guests with their vibrant dancing, and the Smithsonian Gardens will also bring live plants indoors to offer visitors great gardening ideas.
The Renwick in Bloom Family Day is a great event for children of all ages and their parents. The event is held in the Renwick Gallery on the second floor.
