Museum Week DC is in full swing this week in the nation’s capital! Families can explore the best of DC’s museums and attractions, which includes culture, history, and heritage museums, outdoor parks and nature walks and even the famous monuments, memorials, and landmarks.

Between May 23 and May 29, seek out stunning exhibits at the National Gallery of Art. Free and open to the public, there are several exhibits to experience, including Celebrating a Milestone: 75 Years of the National Gallery of Art and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. Witness incredibly creative forms by American-born visionary James McNeill Whistler, a modern American artist in a film created by Karen Thomas. She showcases his work during an hour-long documentary using interview footage, paintings, recreations, and more inside the exhibit Art of Film Dialogue: James McNeill Whistler and The Case for Beauty.

More into nature? Enjoy the open spaces in the Sculpture Garden, where celtic acoustic rock by the 19th Street Band will lull you into a state of relaxation.
