If you’re a fan of enamel artwork or just want to check out a unique exhibit, make your way to June Schwarcz: Invention and Variation at Renwick Gallery. The museum is located just under two miles from Newseum Residences, so an afternoon of culture is just around the corner.
June Schwarcz lived in the 20th century through the early 21st century, and is known for being an innovative and unorthodox designer in the enamel art space who influenced a significant amount of American artists. The exhibit features more than 60 pieces of work, and is the first retrospective of the artist’s work in 15 years. Many of the works that are part of the display have never been in public before, so the collection is one you definitely don’t want to miss.
This exhibit is open through August 27th, and admission is free for everyone.
